Crafting Worlds on Wheels: My Journey with SkateNationXL

There’s something special about creating a world that isn’t just meant to be seen—but experienced. As a 3D artist, I’ve always been fascinated by the way digital spaces can tell stories, evoke emotions, and, in the case of SkateNationXL, become playgrounds for creativity and expression.

I knew this was more than just another project. It was a chance to shape environments where players wouldn’t just skate, but feel the flow of the space—every ramp, every rail, every ledge meticulously crafted to enhance the experience.

The Shanghai Skatepark, with its urban energy, demanded an authentic yet stylized approach. Concrete textures, modular props, and the right balance of grit and polish helped define its atmosphere. Meanwhile, the Taj Mahal Skatepark was a completely different challenge—melding iconic architecture with skateable surfaces while respecting the grandeur of its real-world inspiration. Finding that balance was an art in itself.

Every piece of geometry, every prop placement, and every texture told a small part of the larger story. Seeing these elements come together, knowing that players would push their creativity to the limits within these spaces, made the long hours and iterations worth it.

A huge thanks to MBS Studios for entrusting me with this opportunity. Working on these levels was more than just creating assets, it was about building experiences, and I’m grateful to have been part of that journey. These viuals are just from Demo Game ,the final game is yet to be released and it will include more of levels that i have been a part of as a Environment Artist.
